Kidney Beans

The name Kidney beans is given on the way these legumes appear. Commonly there are two varieties, light red and dark red. Light red kidney beans tend to be more softer when cooked than the darker ones. Unlike other beans, these are a bit firm. Kidney beans are used to make a variety of dishes. They are a rich source of protein and less in fat. Other than that, kidney beans help in improving heart health, reducing cholesterol, controlling blood sugar and managing weight. As it is full of fibre, one can feel fuller for a long time and avoid overeating.
